- An estimated biological age Sometimes a pace of aging
A biological age test estimates how fast your body is aging. Most read chemical marks on your DNA, known as an epigenetic clock. Some measure telomere length, the protective caps on the ends of your chromosomes.
These are research measures rather than diagnoses. Different tests can give the same person different answers, so a result is best read as one data point to track over time with the same test. Biological-age testing is offered under brands like TruAge and DunedinPACE.

Biological Age Test: common questions
Which clinics in Chicago list biological age or telomere testing?
5 in our Chicago guide: BluePath Longevity, Northwestern Medicine Human Longevity Clinic, Refine by Tulsi, SHIFT and North Shore Longevity.
Can I compare results from two companies?
Not reliably. Each clock is built differently, so compare a result only with an earlier result from the same test.
What can I do with the number?
Use it as one marker alongside things with a clearer meaning, such as blood pressure, fitness and routine blood tests.
